A Lil Something To Assuage Them Post-Holiday Blues

Back from the holidays and tragically super busy already. I have no recourse but to post a simple blog until I have more time. So here is the cover picture from the hit Leo Sayer album "Endless Flight."

About This Blog

You may have noticed at this time, this blog contains nothing on bowling or Winona-ing. The title refers to a tiny Academy Awards review site I wrote a few years back (come to think of it, I suppose I was actually blogging back then, before I knew that term had nothing to do with lumberjacks). It was originally created to review Oscar nominees and serve as a venue wherein I could openly spew out my perhaps unnecessarily vitriolic rantings about Winona Ryder. This was pre-Winona shopping spree mind you and so was directed at her lackluster talents, rather than her lame criminal activity.

The site was only active during the Oscar season and only had about three readers total so naturally I gave it up after a few years. Since that time I’ve grown lukewarm about Winona since mercifully she’s not really doing all that much anymore that might potentially offend my theatrical sensibilities. Besides, there seems to be a bevy of far more annoying and suspiciously overrated actresses emerge to pick up the slack. Keira Knightley anyone?

The primary reason for my digging this up again is twofold. One because I was far too lazy and unimaginative to come up with another title (though to be fair, my brother-in-law came up with that one) and two because I’ve been bullied for ages to start one of these here blogs. I’m convinced my Scottish bully..er...pal of mine insisted on my blogging on the pretext that I would be globally sharing my “unique” (i.e. skewed) take on pop culture but really so I’ll stop calling and boring him with drawn-out conversations about these issues. And I figured if I was lost for words one day, I could just go back to that original site content, see what I had to say a few years ago and then comment on how I still have irrational hatred toward people who have no genuine impact on my life and who, in all likelihood, I will never meet. Who knows? Maybe this time I can generate a fourth reader!
